Rockland County Art Classes

Teen Beginner Acrylic Painting - 12-16 yrs. old

Wednesday Afternoons - 4:30-6 PM, September 23rd

thru October 28th - 6 Sessions - one per week

$150 + Art Supplies (We purchase the supplies for you. Approx. $60 paid in class.)

This program is for Teen artists ages 12 to 16 years old who want to learn to paint with Acrylics. This is the same program we use for our Adult students. We teach you painting skills and techniques you won't learn in a regular school classroom!

This program is excellent for students who want to begin preparing their college art portfolio.

At Arts Alive! in Nanuet, you will learn how to paint with Acrylics in a relaxing and easy to follow, step-by-step teaching method that we've successfully used to teach Adults and Teens since 1998.

Techniques you will learn include color mixing, underpainting, various painting and blending techniques as you complete several paintings including still life and landscape over 6 weeks.

After completing this class, students will be able to begin to work on their own projects at home and attend some of our other classes and workshops for additional guidance, learning and advancement. High School /College students also welcome.

Teen Beginner Photography Class - 12-16 yrs. old

Thursday Afternoons - 4:30-6 PM, September 24th

thru October 29th - 6 Sessions - one per week

$150 + $50 Supply fee for Photo Printing Paper and Printing Ink that we supply.

Students will need to bring a Digital Camera such as Kodak Easy Share, Fuji Finepix, Nikon Coolpix or any other digital camera with Automatic and MANUAL User Settings to class. They will need to also supply the correct type of Memory Card, batteries, etc for their brand of digital Camera. (If buying a new camera, your camera store salesperson will tell you what accessories aren't included, but are needed with your camera purchase. If you are using a family camera, then you probably have all the required cards, batteries, etc.)

In this course, students will be introduced to the exciting world of digital photography. Students will learn about their own cameras, how to manually adjust exposure settings for various lighting conditions and how to compose photos. Students should bring their cameras to class along with their camera manual. Students will also have weekly photographic assignments based on what is taught in class so they can practice and improve their skills.
